The finish saw Finlay hit Overkill for the victory.
With this victory, Finlay will now challenge Hirooki Goto for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Finlay defeated Yuya Uemura and EVIL during his NJPW New Japan Cup run. He received a first round bye in the tournament.
