CM Punk loves his Starbucks gift cards.
CM Punk entered into a feud with MJF in November 2021 following his AEW Full Gear bout with Eddie Kingston. At the time, MJF was flanked by The Pinnacle (Wardlow, Shawn Spears, Dax Harwood, & Cash Wheeler), and ended up facing members of the Pinnacle during the feud.
When Punk joined AEW in August 2021, he knew he would be working with MJF at some point, and he wanted to show his appreciation to MJF and The Pinnacle before he shared the ring with them.
"He knew coming in that he was eventually going to work with Max in an angle, so he called all the guys in the Pinnacle into his locker room," Dax Harwood recalled on his FTR podcast with Matt Koon. "His locker room door, always open, you could walk in and walk out without knocking and say hello. He was incredible at that. He brought us in his locker room and sat everyone down and said, 'we're all going to be working together soon. I can't wait to work with you guys. I'm a fan of every single one of you and I hope we can make a ton of money together and I hope we can make a ton of money for this company. Just to show you my appreciation, I have these for you.' He knew that most of us were coffee connoisseurs or we loved coffee and he had these gift cards from Starbucks with like $500 on each gift card. He gave it to myself, Cash, Shawn, Wardlow, and Max. He said, 'I know this isn't much, but it's to show my appreciation for you guys allowing me to work with you.'"
Dax would first work with Punk on the December 22, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite when The Pinnacle (Dax, Cash, & MJF) faced Punk, Sting, & Darby Allin.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Dax recalled speaking with Punk after the incident at AEW All Out between Punk and The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks). You can find his full comments by clicking here.
