The title was last held by current NXT Champion Keith Lee, who vacated the North American title to focus on defending the NXT Championship. Three participants remain to fill out the rest of the lineup for the match and next week on NXT, Damian Priest, Oney Lorcan and the debuting Ridge Holland will compete in a triple threat match to become the third entrant in the ladder match.
