Dexter Lumis Released By WWE, Paints A Portrait Of Vince McMahon And Gives A Thumbs Up

Dexter Lumis has been released.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reports that WWE has released Dexter Lumis.

Fourth Competitor Added To Title Match At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19

Lumis signed with the company in February 2019. He previously competed for IMPACT Wrestling and throughout the Independent scene as Sam Shaw. He competed in the 2019 NXT Breakout Tournament and portrayed a "Tortured Artist" character where he would remain silent and do various drawings.

He was famously involved in a storyline with Johnny Gargano and The Way where he had a romantic relationship with Indi Hartwell. The two would get married on-screen on the September 14, 2021 episode of NXT.

He last wrestled on the April 19 episode of NXT where he teamed with Duke Hudson. The duo would lose to Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) in an NXT Tag Team Championship match.

Lumis would take to Twitter later in the day, sharing a video of himself in front of a painting of Vince McMahon and giving a thumbs up. He would include his email for those looking to book him for appearances.
