Dominik Mysterio explains why he tried to hug Rhea Ripley after she took the Women's World Title from Liv Morgan.
At the Netflix premiere of WWE Monday Night RAW on January 6th, Dominik Mysterio attempted to sneak up behind Rhea Ripley but when caught, looked for a hug. Rhea would reject Dominik's attempts at reuniting, hitting him with The Riptide.
In a new interview with TheOneMona during Royal Rumble weekend, Dominik was asked about the moment, explaining that there has been a huge understanding.
"So there is a huge misunderstanding there. Liv and I had agreed that if, for whatever reason, she did not end up with the title, I would steal it and run away and we would figure it out. So that's what I was going for. I was going in for the sneak hug, steal the title, and dip. But she caught on, I guess. That's the real story."
It is unknown as of this writing if Dominik will feature in the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble match, as he is not amongst those who have already declared for the bout.
