Eddie Edwards discusses his decision to re-sign with IMPACT Wrestling.
On Feb. 16, IMPACT Wrestling and Eddie Edwards announced the two parties reached an agreement on a long-term contract. Speaking to the IMPACT website, Edwards discussed his decision to remain part of IMPACT moving forward.
“It wasn’t a tough decision for me,” Edwards said. “This has been my home for the past five years. Between Anthem, our office, the wrestlers, the ring crew, production, everything – I feel comfortable and confident in this team. I want to be one of the guys at the forefront of IMPACT Wrestling, trying to bring us forward to the next level. I’m excited to be here, so I’m happy to sign that dotted line and continue forward. The sky’s the limit for what we can do right now.”
Edwards continued, “I have the most freedom I’ve ever had. It’s great. I get to go out there and try new things. (IMPACT’s) a very comfortable place for me, and it’s very exciting. I’m definitely more comfortable being a little bit outspoken in the locker room and trying to help fellow wrestlers. I enjoy giving my input, as long as I don’t step on people’s toes. I enjoy my position on the roster and I love the people we have here.”
Edwards was involved in one of the biggest moments in wrestling in 2018 when Sami Callihan smashed a baseball bat across his face. The incident, which was turned into an angle, kicked off a heated rivalry between the two that propelled both wrestlers to the top of the company.
You can catch Edwards every Friday night on IMPACT Wrestling, which airs live on Twitch. Fightful provides complete results from the show each week.
