Eddie Kingston Loves Continental Classic Backstage Promos: 'Emotion Is What This Sport Is All About.'

Eddie Kingston is a fan of the AEW Continental Classic's post match promos.

Throughout the tournament, AEW cameras have caught up with competitors in the tournament following their bouts for exclusive comments on their digital platforms. The promos have since began to filter into AEW programming, as both the Blue League and Gold League's competitors have had the opportunity to speak and further their individual stories in the tournament.

One man who has had several emotional promos during the course of the tournament is Ring Of Honor World Champion Eddie Kingston. Kingston began the tournament with a pair of losses, and will require a victory over Andrade El Idolo on tonight's edition of AEW Collision in order to advance to the Blue League's final. While speaking to Sports Illustrated Kingston discussed the promos, stating that he loves the format.

“I heard someone call them promos,” said Kingston. “I didn’t like that. To me, promos are the fake stuff. I’m a reactionary and emotional fighter, and I say what’s on my mind. I love that they grab us right after the match. That’s when the adrenaline is pumping. Emotion is what this sport is all about.”

Kingston is also the current NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion and should he lose or draw with Andrade El Idolo tonight, he will lose the titles with his elimination from the Continental Classic.

Kingston recently stated that should he win the tournament, he would like to defend the Modern Triple Crown championships everywhere, including on the independent circuit. You can read more here.
