Edge says Rusev and English are finding success as a tag team.
Aiden English and Rusev have been teaming for a few months and have recently seen a rise in popularity. One of WWE's most famous tag teams, Edge and Christian, discussed the pairing of English and Rusev on E & C's Pod of Awesomeness. Edge discussed a triple threat tag-team match from the December 26th episode of Smackdown. Edge applauded the whole match, but took note of Rusev and English.
"It was three tag teams. It was Shelton and Gable, It was Aiden English and Rusev, who are awesome. It was New Day, it was Xavier (Woods) and Big E. It was so much fun. It was a well put together match," said Edge. "And Rusev, I have not been privy to how over he has gotten himself. He's doing this thing called 'Rusev Day' and people are going nuts. It's a thing and Aiden English sings their promos," he continued.
The two hosts then discussed the talent on both Raw and Smackdown's tag team divisions and claimed a tag team division is important for any wrestling product. Edge explained how putting Rusev and English together as a team was a good choice.
"You can have a guy like Rusev and a guy like English, who are great, put them together because there's nothing for them in a singles capacity right now. You put those guys together as a team and they are going to make it work. They obviously are," said Edge.
Both Christian and Edge praised WWE's tag teams on Raw and Smackdown. Edge also said being a wrestling fan and a tag team fan go hand in hand.
