The infamous love triangle storyline between Edge, Matt Hardy and Lita blurred the line of what is real and what isn't in pro wrestling.
Edge appeared on the Sam Roberts' Wrestling Podcast and said he knew why Vince McMahon would want the angle to run from a business sense, and despite not wanting to be in the situation, had to run with it.
"Well, I understood it from a business standpoint, and I always try to look at it from Vince's standpoint," Edge said. "And it's like, I get it. I totally get it. I put myself in this position, so I only got myself to blame. So, alright, you reap what you sow, so let's go sow it and reap it, I guess."
The WWE Hall of Famer said that his real-life feelings towards Lita, who originally was in a relationship with Hardy before moving onto a relationship with Edge, made the on-camera segments easy to do.
"I tried to commit to whatever I had to do onscreen because that was the only way it was going to work," Edge said. "And it really did feel like it was her and I against the world, kind of thing. So we felt that way, so it was easy to portray that on TV."
Edge also spoke on several other moments throughout his career, including his feud with John Cena and at what point did he feel like he was a main event star in WWE. Since retiring from in-ring competition, Edge still appeared on WWE programming a few times, including having his own WWE Network show with former tag team partner and best friend Christian.
