You thought you knew him.
On Monday, February 21, Edge made an impassioned plea for anyone on the main roster to step up and challenge him at WrestleMania 38. It only took 7 days for AJ Styles to answer the call. These two men had been talking in interviews about wrestling one another for quite some time and it appeared that WrestleMania 38 would be the site of a good, clean fight between AJ and Edge.
But, it's WrestleMania season and the Rated R Superstar doesn't play like that.
Add quickly began to verbally assault AJ Styles saying that he wanted the bulldog and not the "tag team bitch” that was hanging around with Omos for the last year.
The verbal assault quickly turned into a physical clash between the two which stopped when an edge delivered a kick to the groin of AJ Styles. Suddenly, Edge began to show shades of the ruthless, manipulative, calculating Superstar that won 11 World Championships before retiring for 9 years and coming back at the 2020 Royal Rumble.
Edge would continue to strike AJ Styles while he was down and then, Edge delivered two vicious con-chair-tos to the head of AJ Styles. With both men having agreed to the match, it will take place during WrestleMania 38 weekend but now, there is an extra layer of intensity added to this upcoming dream match.
