Per TheWrap, Ella Purnell has joined the cast of Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead as Dave Bautista's daughter, Kate.
Only 22 years old, Purnell gained mainstream recognition for her roles in Kick-Ass 2, Maleficent, and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.
Army of the Dead will center around a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas and a man assembling a group of mercenaries to pull off the greatest heist. Snyder is no stranger to the genre, first breaking out in 2004 with his feature directorial debut, Dawn of the Dead. This will mark his first time behind the camera since exiting 2017's Justice League during post-production after the tragic death of his daughter.
Snyder is also a producer on the film alongside his wife Deborah. Netflix will serve as the distributor. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in July.
Dave Bautista is currently filming Denis Villeneuve's Dune and is scheduled to reprise his role as Drax for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy 3 after Army of the Dead wraps. He can be seen this summer on the big screen in both Stuber and My Spy.
Ana De La Reguera (Goliath), Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) and Huma Qureshi round out the rest of the cast.
