In the past, Amore has stated he did not hear about the accusations until that day when WWE found out via social media. But during the podcast, Amore revealed he did hear about an email a month before from a person claiming to be an investigator.

"I got a buddy of mine that hit me up that's like 'hey man, my girlfriend got an email from a guy saying he's an investigator saying a girl made a claim against a wrestler, never mentioned my name but obviously I knew what he was talking about. That is when I called my lawyer immediately and I was like 'find out what's going on here,'" said Amore.

According to Amore, his Lawyer contacted the police and found no information about charges or an investigation. Amore said the person who sent the email did not claim to be a police officer.
