Daniel Bryan gained a new ally at the Royal Rumble.
During his WWE Title defense against AJ Styles, Erick Rowan sauntered down to ringside to take in the action. Styles appeared to have the match won with a Styles Clash, but a ref bump prevented the three count from taking place. Rowan entered the ring, grabbed Styles by the head, and picked him up for a monster slam. As the referee came to, Bryan covered Styles for the pinfall victory.
Prior to the finish, Styles and Bryan were have a competitive matchup that the crowd wasn't getting into.

Rowan has been out of action since suffering a torn bicep at SummerSlam 2018. Royal Rumble marked the first time he has been on television since the SmackDown following SummerSlam.
Bryan has history with Rowan as he feuded with, and then became a member of, the Wyatt Family at the end of 2013 and into 2014.
