Ethan Page Explains Why He Signed With AEW Over WWE

Ethan Page became one of the hottest free agents on the market in January 2021 when his IMPACT Wrestling contract expired.

Page remained on IMPACT television through Hard To Kill, when The Karate Man, Page's alter ego, killed him. After spending a little time out of the spotlight, Page made his AEW debut at Revolution in the Face of the Revolution ladder match.

Answering questions on his YouTube page, Page explained why he signed with AEW instead of WWE.

"I wanted to go to AEW from the chance that I even thought about moving from one place to another. AEW was always at the top of my list. I would not be able to do this stream with you guys, I would not be able to answer these questions, I would not be able to do my vlog, Twitch, or any outside projects like that (in WWE). They give the talent some really good creative freedom as well to be who they are and who they want to be. You're going to see 'All Ego' Ethan Page. I really had a hand in designing my first t-shirt for AEW. You're going to see sprinkles of my creativity throughout my AEW career. It's more of a collaboration," he said.

While Page did not win the Face of the Revolution ladder match, he did pick up a singles victory over Lee Johnson on the March 10 episode of AEW Dynamite.

He is set to compete on the March 22 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation against Alan "5" Angels. Fightful will have results from AEW Dark: Elevation following the conclusion on the event.
