Last year the tranquilo Los Ingobernables de Japon members EVIL and SANADA went to distance in World Tag League and went on to Wrestle Kingdom 12 to face and successfully defeat 'Killer Elite Squad' (Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer) to capture the IWGP Tag Team Championships. Standing in EVIL and SANADA's way of doing so again were Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa.

The two pairs went blow for blow and SANADA and EVIL not only had to focus on their in-ring opponents but they always had to the worry about Jado on the outside who was flinging around a kendo stick.

Regardless of the numbers advantage, EVIL and SANADA were able to hold it together and the closing sequences of the match saw EVIL hold down the legs of Tama while SANADA went up to the top for a moonsault to pick up the win and their second World Tag League tournament in a row. Post-match both men spoke to crowd and celebrated their victory and alerted G.O.D. that their Tag Team Title run was coming to an end come January 4th. As it appeared that EVIL and SANADA were set to say their goodbyes and get ready for the 'Road To Wrestle Kingdom' shows, the former IWGP Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks came out to the ring and stated that when they lost the titles to Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa back at 'Fighting Spirit Unleashed', they never received their rematch.

Matt Jackson who was on the microphone suggested that the IWGP Tag Team Title match at Wrestle Kingdom 13 should be converted into a Triple-Threat involving themselves, the Guerrillas Of Destiny and the 2018 World Tag League tournament winners EVIL and SANADA .

During the post-match interviews, EVIL stated that he and his running mate have no problem adding The Young Bucks to the Wrestle Kingdom match so they can right the wrong of losing the titles to Matt and Nick at 'Dominion'.
