Anthony Greene reflects on taking the Scorpion Death Drop from Sting.
Former WWE Superstar Anthony Greene is going to be debuting in Major League Wrestling as part of the 40-Man Battle Riot on April 5. To promote the upcoming debut, Greene appeared on Fightful Overbooked's In The Weeds and spoke with Jeremy Lambert and SP3.
Anthony Greene mentioned wanting to punch Sting in the face during the interview. This is because on the September 29, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite, Greene and Bear Country were defeated by Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston, and Jon Moxley. After the match, Darby's mentor Sting dropped Greene with the Scorpion Death Drop.
Now, he's reflecting on the moment.
"Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston beat me clean in the middle of the ring and as I tried to roll out in defeat, I got kicked back in the ring, picked up by Sting and Scorpion Death Dropped. Eddie Kingston was in the way of me rolling out of the ring. He kicks me in the ring, ‘Get back in there. Stinger.’ I was in the reverse DDT and where my head was located, I could see the screen. I could see myself in the move, but the screen is half a second behind. By the time I’m getting dropped, I’m still looking at myself. So I actually hit my head pretty hard on the mat," he said.
