Aonghus McAnally discusses possibly getting back in the ring.
The voice of Irish wrestling has not always been an announcer, as not only is he an accomplished commentator, but an actor and former wrestler himself. Aonghus made a surprise appearance in the 2024 Loco Rumble, and while he's open to another appearance similar, that's all he is interested in for now.
While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan, Aonghus was asked about possibly stepping into the ring again, noting that he was happy with his appearance in the Loco Rumble.
"So there's a couple of things with that I had joked for a long time with (Joe) Carbray that all I wanted was a rumble spot. So as I said, when I trained, it was never with the intention of being a worker. I am very comfortable. I see what those guys and girls put themselves through. I know what it is to bump. I've trained enough over the years. I've bumped a lot over the years. I'm 44 now. But the deal always was, as a kind of a joke, it's in my contract. If OTT ever runs a rumble, I'm getting a rumble spot. And fair play to Carbray, he was true to his word. That was insane craic, it's lovely but again I need to be very, very careful about what I do. I adored being in the Rumble. It was amazing. I got to show it to my kids. They all got a big pop out of it. Would I do another spot like that at some point? Yeah, I'd be very open to something like that. But the idea of me working a real match, I don't really see that in my future."
Aonghus would not go all the way in the Rumble, but seems he views the night as a success regardless.
