Atlantis Jr. recalls defeating Stuka Jr. in a Mask vs. Mask match.
In September 2022, Atlantis Jr. was able to score a major win in his career by defeating Stuka Jr. in a Mask vs. Mask match. This changed the career of Stuka Jr, as he was forced to unmask and reveal his birth name. Just a few months later, Stuka Jr. won the CMLL Rey Del Inframundo Championship from El Terrible.
While chatting with Fightful for a new interview, Atlantis Jr. recalled defeating Stuka Jr. in the match and how it was a big opportunity for him at that point in his career.
"In Mexico, it’s the most important match you can have because you are defending your mask. I won the mask of Stuka Jr. When I dove and Stuka move, people thought I was going to lose my mask. The kids I saw wearing my mask, shouting my name. It injected me with energy. It was a big opportunity for me in the main event. In that moment, I woke up and said, ‘This is my moment.’ I won the mask and was very happy. There was a lot pressure. I was nervous. My father gave me some tips. I was focused. I want to get more masks. Masks, hair, it’s a great opportunity."
Atlantis Jr. then said that he'd be willing to face Stuka Jr. again, this time in a mask vs. hair match.
"I saw a lot of anger because I took the most important thing. Every match, he wants to rip my mask. I don’t know if Stuka Jr wants my mask, but if he wants a rematch, mask vs. hair, come on. I’m very prepared and excited for that."
Elsewhere in the interview, Atlantis Jr. talked about working a heel before stating that he prefers to work as a babyface. Check out his full comments on the matter here.
