Becky Lynch: Confronting Bayley At WrestleMania 37 Wasn't 'Big Time' Enough For My Return

Becky Lynch talks about a three-year-old inspiring her new hairstyle and any potential plans for her to return at last year's WrestleMania to confront Bayley.

Becky Lynch, at WrestleMania 38 officially debuted a new hairstyle, rocking a mullet after Bianca Belair cut her hair on the final Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania 38.

Speaking to Sean Ross Sapp, Becky explains that it was actually a three-year-old with a mullet that she saw that inspired her to try the hairstyle for herself.

"So this happened and then I saw a three-year-old with a great mullet," said Becky. "I said, ‘Wow, that kid’s cool. That kid’s frickin’ cool.’ I was like, ‘Audy,’ Audy’s my hair dresser, ‘Audy, give me the mullet.’ She said, ‘Alright. If you’re sure.’ I said, ‘I’m frickin’ sure.’"

Prior to WrestleMania 38, Becky Lynch hadn't lost a singles match in years. Becky Lynch even revealed that nobody could beat her at anything, even an argument while she was pregnant.

"Nobody’s been able to beat me for this title in three frickin’ years. Well, when I was pregnant nobody could beat me in an argument. I’ll tell you that. Ain’t nobody can beat me in an argument anyway," she said.

Becky Lynch returned at SummerSlam 2021, but there was a potential plan on the table for her to return and confront Bayley at WrestleMania 37. Becky said she wanted to generously give the hard-working Bayley a WrestleMania moment but ultimately, the powers-that-be decided something bigger was needed for Big Time Becks.

"There was a bit of chatter," said Becky about a WrestleMania return in 2021. "There was a bit of a pitch. I know that Bayley, who worked so hard that whole year and really just went into a different level with the character, had nothing. It was sad. She deserved a big moment. So me, being the generous soul that I am, was going to give her a big moment. But it never came to fruition. I think they thought, ‘Well, we need something bigger for Big Time Becks.’ That’s right, Bayley. Bigger."

Ultimately, Becky Lynch would finally be defeated by Bianca Belair, officially losing the Raw Women's Championship for the first time since she won it at WrestleMania 35, three years ago.
