Fightful: “Now your business is sort of public because it’s on screen all the time.”

Montez Ford: “All the time.”

Bianca Belair: “Exactly.”

Fightful: “Was there anything you weren’t prepared to share that made it on screen for your new show on [Hulu]?”

Montez Ford: “What wasn’t I prepared for?”

Fightful: “Like maybe your wig getting snatched?”

Montez Ford: “You know what? I wasn’t prepared for that myself. You know she’s very, very talented in a lot of ways. She sews, she makes all her gear, yada yada. Everybody knows that, but when you take it up another level to the point where you’re putting the disguise on your hat…”

Bianca Belair: “You work smarter and not harder. That’s what that was.”

Montez Ford: “Yeah, you’re right.”

Bianca Belair: “I wasn’t prepared to get my edges snatched on live TV. I was not prepared for that.”

Fightful: “How would you compare the media schedule when you’ve had to promote this show compared to some of the bigger events you’ve done? I mean, I know I’ve seen you at so many media events and food pantries, Boys & Girls Club of America and all that. This is a much different type of media that you do for a show like that?”

Montez Ford: “Yeah, that’s like we did the Kelly Clarkson, we did Sherri Shepherd, we did a couple of other—”

Bianca Belair: “That Hot 97.”

Montez Ford: “—New York outlets, Hot 97 radio station. So it was basically getting eyes and ears that are outside of the wrestling bubble.”

Bianca Belair: “Yeah.”

Montez Ford: “You know, obviously, hopefully, we obtain everyone in the wrestling bubble, but also we want to get more eyes on the outside, too, and let them know wrestling’s changed. We fly now, as you can see. We handsome, we’re beautiful, we’re athletic, we’re very talented. She’s sews and makes her own gear. I work out, I look sexy and I make my own music. It’s a lot of things we’re showing them now and we’re getting outside eyes on the product to show them we’re not just doing a clothesline.”

Bianca Belair: “Yeah.”

Montez Ford: “We’re making it.”
