Deonna Purrazzo: Competing In A Title Match At AEW Revolution Is A Perfect Scenario And A Fairy Tale

Deonna Purrazzo explains why competing in a title match so soon after she joined AEW is validating.

Deonna Purrazzo signed with AEW after she entered free agency at the beginning of January. The three-time IMPACT Knockouts World Champion arrived on the January 3 episode of AEW Dynamite and made it clear that she was coming for AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm. Purrazzo has picked up several victories and earned the right to challenge Storm for the gold at AEW Revolution on March 3.

In an interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Deonna Purrazzo was asked whether it was validating that she was set to compete in a title match so soon after joining the company.

"100% validating. If you could drum up a perfect scenario, this is what it is. You come in, debut in your hometown with your family there, and then you’re thrown right into the world title picture and you have such an interesting story to tell. This has been like a fairy tale of hitting everything I wanted to do. I wanted to come into AEW, that was where I saw myself. As a multi-time world champion outside of AEW, I can see myself as the AEW women’s world champion. To be in that spot is a testament to what Tony Khan thought of me and the work Toni and have done has been a testament to my talent and what I thought of myself in proving myself right and betting on myself and now it’s just down to getting the job done at the pay-per-view," Purrazzo said.

During the interview, Purrazzo also discussed her storyline with Toni Storm coming together. Check out her comments here.
