Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock is not the plan for WrestleMania, in case you were holding out hope.
Fightful Select learned in November that the plan in motion had been John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes, which was a match that those close to Cody Rhodes had actually hoped for in years past. This plan was enacted because WWE didn't expect The Rock to compete at WrestleMania to prepare in the event he couldn't.
We'd reported a while back that Cody Rhodes was at the Moana premiere and the two had filmed something. At the time, we were told it may never see the light of day, and "squashed things" between the two. When we followed up this week, we were told it was in the same vain of the way things played out on WWE Raw.
As of now, creative is under the impression the Rock will not be wrestling at WrestleMania. They are fully aware that things could change in the next four months.
