Gunther On His Intercontinental Title Reign: It's Not The Time To Celebrate, I've Got To Stay Focused

Gunther isn't ready to celebrate his historic reign with the Intercontinental Championship.

'The Ring General' is still reigning on top with his Intercontiental title, a belt that he's held for nearly 600 days at this point. At this point, there are many fans that don't expect Gunther to lose the belt to another star, but rather vacate the title to challenge for a world championship.

While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Gunther was asked to talk about what it means to be the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time.

"It’s a part of the job. It’s a great accomplishment. Whenever I get asked about it, it’s not the time to celebrate now. It’s going to be later. I’m stuck in a tunnel a little bit and stay focused. Overall, it’s been great for my career and it’s a great achievement."

Elsewhere in the interview, Gunther talked about potentially vacating the Intercontinental Championship if he were to win a world title. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
