Gunther waited it out.

Gunther had a successful run as Walter in NXT UK. He moved to NXT in 2022, and his name was changed to Gunther. At the time, the change led to plenty of discourse, and fans constantly talked about it. Over two years later, Gunther has become one of WWE's top stars. He had a record-breaking run as the WWE Intercontinental Champion, and he won the King of the Ring tournament.
