Izzy Moreno: I Love Training With Ace Steel. He's Teaching Us The Harley Race Way

Izzy Moreno reflects on training with Ace Steel.

Izzy Moreno is on the rise in professional wrestling, and she's trying to get as much seasoning from as many veterans as she can. One of the veterans she's learned from is Ace Steel, who trained CM Punk, at his Foundation school in Orlando, Florida. Izzy, so she tried with him for a straight month before briefly moving to Texas.

In a recent interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, she described the experience as very positive. Ace Steel, who was a student of Harley Race's, is now passing on that knowledge and that style of training, and Izzy is doing her best to absorb all of the experience she can.

"Oh my gosh. I love working with him," she said. "You have no idea. It was funny, he literally opened up a school right before I was moving to Texas. So I was going there for a month just so I can stay in-ring ready. I was like, ‘Oh, I love it.’ I was like, ‘Why did he have to open it right before I'm leaving?’ Then I actually moved back to Florida. I came home early for the holidays. I was training there and then at Pete Dunne’s and then I came back officially full time in January.

"I love training with Ace. I really do," she continued. "It is absolutely incredible. Just like you said, his mindset with wrestling is incredible. His attention to details. He always says, cleanliness equals speed. So just like that and his principles on wrestling, it's so important. He's teaching us the Harley Race way, which is pretty awesome. On top of that, it just feels good to be in like a really nice environment and to be with people who want to wrestle and who want to train and who want to grow and continue to learn and just him, who's such a hands-on teacher. I appreciate that at least."

Izzy says she's grateful to have earned his respect and feels so lucky to be in the position she's in.

"The conversations we have, I feel like I've earned his respect and that means a lot to me. I absolutely adore him and I'm just I'm so grateful for him for allowing me to come into his school and just allow me to like grow and learn from him because he really didn't have to. But he did. So I just I adore going there. Every day I'm there, I’m like, ‘God, I'm so lucky.’"

Izzy will be a part of the GCW event, which will begin the tournaments to crown WWE ID Champions. However, will not be participating in tournament action. Learn more about that here.
