Jesus Rodriguez Says Appearance In 2012 WWE Royal Rumble Helped Him Prepare For MLW Battle Riot In 2024

Jesus Rodriguez has high praise for the Royal Rumble.

Before making his MLW Battle Riot debut in June 2024, Jesus Rodriguez made an appearance in the 2012 Royal Rumble under his WWE name, Ricardo Rodriguez. Rodriguez performed poorly in the match, scoring zero eliminations and lasting only two minutes.

While chatting with Fightful for a new interview, Rodriguez said that his Royal Rumble appearance helped him prepare for the Battle Riot match in 2024.

"The Royal Rumble, obviously is always going to be a big spectacular in the world of professional wrestling. That's definitely one of those events that everything stops for that. So to have that experience and then to go into the Battle Riots with already that knowledge of how to avoid getting eliminated—which, obviously in the Rumble it didn't work out too well for me—but just transferring over to Battle Riot and then being in the ring with some of the talent that I've had that pleasure of being in WWE with was a great experience."

Speaking of battle royals, Rodriguez also spoke about his appearance in a 159-man battle royal in his interview with Fightful. Check out his full comments on the matter by clicking here.
