Speaking to Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds, Krule was asked who came up with the idea behind the gusset plate.

"You start talking with AKIRA, it’s probably AKIRA’s idea. The steel plate, you talk about the magic behind it, there is no magic behind it. We’re talking about a gusset plate. If you’re familiar with buildings and how construction works, there’s a barn behind my house, and many gusset plates are stuck in the rafters, holding 2x4s and 2x6s together. That’s what they are made to do. They’re not made to be stuck into your skull," he said.

Elsewhere during the interview, Krule discussed his decision to sign with MLW. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
