Maya World reflects on facing Athena in Ring Of Honor.
World made her debut for the promotion in December, as she wrestled her trainer, Athena, in a match that was taped for the December 21 episode of ROH On HonorClub. Despite the fact that she didn't pick up the win, World has capitalized on the exposure since, competing in promotions like New Tradition Lucha Libre, Inspire After Dark, and Bayou Independent Wrestling.
While appearing on Fightful Overbooked's Indied podcast, World reflected on the match and noted that it was a great experience.
“It was crazy, I didn’t expect to get an opportunity like that so early on but Athena is my trainer, so thanks to her, I got to have that match with her and it was amazing experience. Thankfully, it was in front of people, it was in Dallas so it was a lot of people that I knew. I was nervous at first, but as soon as I got in the ring, I saw a lot of familiar faces so it was fine. It was a great experience.”
