- The majority of participants in next week’s 25 man battle royal were locked in on Tuesday evening, with inquiries made about using certain main roster talent being made last week. We are told TNA talent is also expected in the match by several NXT talent, but are told that a final decision on who will not be made till later this week.

WWE Women's US Title Tournament Continues On Next Friday's WWE SmackDown

- While asking about the announce team's recent hints seemingly directed at Joe Hendry and possibly Giulia, Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan was told that these were not improvisations by Vic Joseph and were planned.

- We are told several of the NIL class shown on the show took part in the recent tryouts at the WWE Performance Center.

- Several NXT talents tell Fightful Select that Cody Rhodes spoke to any talent that he could during his visit.

- For those asking why Brooks Jensen’s storyline has yet to be shown on TV, NXT sources say they are relying on fan reactions to carry the story for now, and are happy with how the storyline has blurred lines with some fans.

- In asking why Rebel was present at the tapings, we were told by NXT sources that Rebel was visiting friends, and is personally connected to someone who works in NXT.

- NXT officials were said to be very happy with Wendy Choo’s new presentation and the fan reaction to her shifted character.

NXT Battleground Notes

- As shown on social media and in a digital exclusive, CM Punk was in attendance for the event. Punk once again kept a low profile at the event but was in good spirits.

- Jordynne Grace’s earring being ripped out led to a brief consideration backstage to have a doctor check Grace over, but was left alone when it became clear Jordynne was unfazed by it. Jordynne revealed on social media on Monday morning that she would be retiring wearing earrings during matches due to the mishap.

- We are told all six women came out of the women’s North American Title ladder match banged up but with no notable injuries. Kelani Jordan received an ovation backstage following her title win.

- We are told there was a brief consideration to have the TNA contingent of Gail Kim, Jonathan Gresham and company shown on the broadcast.

- The UFC names featured on the show were all said to be enthusiastic about the experience, with one fighter openly expressing their desire to work with WWE in the future.
