Rhio reflects on how she captured the Progress Women's World Title.
Last year, Rhio would cash in her Key to challenge then Progress Women's World champion Lana Austin for the championship, dethroning Austin in the process and winning the championship.
While speaking to Fightful's Corey Brennan in a recent interview, Rhio noted that it frustrates her to see fans question the legitimacy of her Progress World Title win and how she managed to do it.
"It feels good to know that I've got it, but see, this is what bothers me with some of the fans that say these things, right? So they'll go, well, it's a bit of a grey area whether you actually won. Well, it's not, because I beat Lana Austin in the Revelations of Divine Love tournament, which then had me go on. So I beat her before that and I beat her afterwards. So I beat her in two single matches at Progress. Everyone knows that's the name of the game with the key. Whether people can deem you good, bad, whatever they want to do. I'm smart, and nobody bats an eyelid when she's got about three people stood behind her. They don't question her then. They question me for taking my time when it was the right time and when it was the smart time. But then, you know, they don't say anything when she's got three people stood blocking her the whole year. I chased her for, like, over a year for that. I had to wait to make sure that she didn't have LAE or Rob or whoever she wants to bring with her. So it does do my head in when they say that because I'm like, that is the whole point of the key. That is, you know, with WWE, that's the point of, like, Money in the Bank. That's the point of the briefcase. That would make me a bit of a stupid wrestler if I'm going to go up to the champion at optimum health. You know, the freshest anything and go, oh, cash in that. Like, that doesn't make any sense."
Rhio is currently scheduled to defend her Progress Women's World Title on Monday when she faces Kanji, Lizzy Evo and Nina Samuels in the first ever ladder match with the title on the line.
Elsewhere in Rhio's interview with Fightful, she discussed her upcoming title defense. You can read more about that here.
