Seth Rollins Didn't Think He'd Torn His ACL Following Knee Injury On 1/15 WWE RAW

Seth Rollins believed he knew that he had escaped a torn ACL after his injury during the January 15th edition of Monday Night RAW.

On that night, Seth Rollins would defend his World Heavyweight Championship vs Jinder Mahal and in the process, suffered a torn MCL and a partially torn meniscus. This put a match at WrestleMania 40 in jeopardy, but Rollins has maintained that he will compete at the show, if not sooner despite his injuries.

While speaking to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff earlier this week, Rollins discussed his injury, and stated that he thought following the injury that it was not a torn ACL.

"I didn’t think it was a torn ACL at the moment (in the match), but you never know. I do have experience with knee injuries, but I kept telling all the doctors, ‘I’m not a doctor, I’m not a doctor,’ but I think it’s this. Forutnately, it was exactly what I thought it was, which was a partially torn MCL and meniscus injury. I think the meniscus injury that showed up on the MRI was an old one, just a lot of wear and tear because I’ve had trouble with my left knee for many years, but never got it scanned. I was panicking, to be honest. I was panicking because I’ve been done this road before where I had to miss WrestleMania due to an injury, I almost missed WrestleMania due to an injury, and I didn’t want to let people down. I’ve been carrying this title, calling myself the workhorse for a long time. I wanted this title to be there and being able to defend it on the biggest WrestleMania of all time." he said.

Rollins previously suffered a torn ACL back in 2015, forcing him to vacate the WWE Championship at the time.

It was announced on the February 9th edition of Friday Night SmackDown that Rollins would be facing the winner of an Elimination Chamber match at WrestleMania. You can read more here.
