Tom Lawlor: Brutus Creed Is The Tito Ortiz To My Dana White

Tom Lawlor talks WWE at Bloodsport.

Josh Barnett's Bloodsport X was a huge event for the wrestling world, specifically due to the involvement of WWE. The company allowed Shayna Baszler and Charlie Dempsey to compete at the event, adding a level of crossover intrigue.

Later on in the year, Bloodsport XI continued the crossover, with Baszler, Dempsey, Julius Creed, and Brutus Creed all competing at the event. Brutus Creed got the chance to fight Tom Lawlor.

While chatting with Fightful Overbooked for a new interview, Tom Lawlor was asked about the event and if there was any interaction with people from WWE.

"No. None. I don’t think there were WWE agents or backstage people at that show. A lot of times there has been, I know Regal has been at some of the shows and there have been other agents there, but at that one I don’t think there was. It was a Sunday afternoon and there was nothing else they were kind of piggybacking off of. The only interaction I had backstage was talking to the Creeds after and getting their feel for the whole thing since they had no clue what to expect. The only people in WWE that I’ve talked to in months would be like Timothy Thatcher, now that he’s back there, but that’s about it. Nobody there wants anything to do with me."

Lawlor went on to say that he was there to make Brutus Creed look good.

"That’s not what I was there for. That’s not what I was interested in doing. I’m there to make their guy look good? They should have hit me up. I’m not the one puking before the fucking match. Where is the level of respect for me? TKO owns them. UFC bought WWE, not the other way away. Raw on Netflix ohhh, five million dollar, UFC went there and did double that the next week. How many matches a night does Brutus Creed have? Zero. My boy Brutus. He’s like the Tito Ortiz to my Dana White. Bonehead beyond belief. In a battle of wits, Dana White is going to win."

Elsewhere in the interview, Lawlor talked about wanting to be like Minoru Suzuki in 15 years. Check out his full comments on the matter by clicking here.

MLW Superfight 6 will take place in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, February 6. The show will stream live on YouTube at 9 p.m. EST.
