The finals are set in NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 29 tournament.
El Desperado will meet Hiromu Takahashi in the finals of the Best of Super Juniors 29 tournament. The finals will take place on June 3.
Desperado punched his ticket to the finals by defeating El Phantasmo on the final night of block action. Both men finished with 12 points, but Desperado won the tiebreaker by virtue of the head-to-head victory.
Takahashi was in a similar position, defeating Taiji Ishimori in the finals. Like Desperado, Takahashi needed a victory to tie Ishimori in points. He got the victory, which tied him in points with Ishimori, but gave him the block victory with the head-to-head win.
Takahashi won the Best of the Super Juniors in 2021 and 2020. He defeated El Desperado in the 2020 finals. He also won in 2018. El Desperado has never won BOSJ.
