Flip Gordon Wins Vacant CMLL World Historic Middleweight Title at CMLL Viernes Espectacular

A new champion is crowned.

CMLL hosted the show Viernes Espectacular on November 15 at the mythical Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. As one of the marquee match-ups of the show, Flip Gordon faced Villano III Jr. in the finals to crown a new CMLL World Historic Middleweight Title, recently vacated by Místico due to his moving weight classes from Middleweight to Light Heavyweight.

After an acrobatic and hard-hitting fight between the two, the end of the match occurred when Villano hit his signature Springrope Moonsault before going for an arrogant pin; however, Gordon reversed this with a Crucifix Pin to pick up the victory and win the title. As he promised, Místico came to the ring and put the title on Gordon's waist. This is Gordon's first title since joining CMLL.
