Four Wrestlers Added To Mae Young Classic Including Io Shirai

The field for the 2nd Mae Young Classic is filling up. 

WWE has already announced Kaitlyn will be returning to WWE for the Mae Young Classic and Rhea Ripley also confirmed she will be in the tournament. The Mae Young Classic will feature 32 competitors and already has a total of six announced. Cathy Kelley reviews the official entrants so far on WWE Now in the video at the top of this page.

On Friday, WWE announced four more wrestlers for the Mae Young classic and framed them as "international standouts" and an American Ninja Warrior. 

Added to the tournament were STARDOM wrestler Io Shirai, WWE Performance Center student and American Ninja Warrior contestant Kacy Catanzaro, Canadian Nicole Matthews, and Progress Women's Champion Jinny. 

Filipino wrestler Vernice Gabriel has also been reported to take part in the tournament. 

WWE announced the taping of the tournament will take place on August 8th and August 9th. It will be aired on the WWE Network at a later date.
