Christian Cage is set for his first official singles match since 2014 when he battles Frankie Kazarian on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.
Christian and Kazarian are no strangers to each other, having wrestled multiple times in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, including a ladder match at TNA Genesis 2007.
Speaking on Scorpio Sky's The Week In Wrestling podcast, Kazarian commented on sharing the ring with Christian for his singles return.
"Christian Cage, maybe in the entire history of pro wrestling, is the most underrated guy to ever do it. Maybe the highest wrestling IQ I've ever been around. Knowing what works, knowing where to be, he's a master in what we do. He's mastered the craft of pro wrestling. I'm so thrilled that he's here. If you had told me a month and a half ago that I would have the chance to wrestle Christian Cage again, it just wasn't in the cards. The fact that it's happening is still surreal. I'm looking forward to the match. It's a huge honor to be his first opponent in seven years and I can't wait to beat him," said Sky.
Kazarian was victorious in the ladder match at Genesis 2007.
Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
