George Mizanin toughed it out at WrestleMania.
The fourth match on the main card of WrestleMania 35 featured former SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions The Miz and Shane McMahon clashing in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The match lasted shortly over fifteen minutes and the two men battled throughout MetLife Stadium. At one point during the match, The Miz's father George Mizanin protected his son as Shane was setting up to land his signature elbow off the top rope onto the table that The Miz was laying on. That led to Shane inviting George Mizanin into the ring and delivering a few blows to Mizanin.
George Mizanin did take a knee from Shane that broke his rib but told those who checked on him that he was fine while the match was on-going. George Mizanin shared that information when he joined the 'Jobbing Out' podcast and detailed his experience at WrestleMania 35 and started off by sharing that he was not supposed to enter the ring but was told by Shane McMahon to "follow my lead".
“It’s amazing what they can do with somebody in the ring at WrestleMania and Shane [McMahon] told me… I wasn’t supposed to get in the ring but he told me, ‘Whatever happens, just follow my lead’ as he was calling me into the ring and I thought, ‘What’s going on? I’m not supposed to get in the ring’, and I got in the ring and that’s where he actually kneed me in the… I broke a rib and I guess I gave him a black eye and I guess Michael had three staples put in his head that day. So, there’s a lot more to that WrestleMania -- like I said, WrestleMania is the main Super Bowl of wrestling and for this all to happen..." George Mizanin reflected.
The Miz and Shane McMahon's feud is not finished as they are on a collision course that is heading for the Money In The Bank pay-per-view where they'll face off once again inside a Steel Cage.
