During an Interview with Shakeil Mahjouri for SHAK Wrestling, Bill Goldberg spoke on his relationship with Bret Hart prior to the kick that derailed Bret's career.
In the main event of WCW Starrcade 1999, there was supposed to be a special moment between two former tag partners, ended in a catastrophic way, as a rather stiff botched kick from Goldberg ultimately lead to Bret Hart's retirement in 2000.
In the interview, Goldberg was asked about his relationship with Bret Hart before the kick.
"I was a sponge and he taught me. I learned through osmosis from Bret. To have a talent like that down in WCW at a time when I felt as if everyone was trying to expose me and push me in the wrong direction, I saw in him an ally."
Goldberg had continued, speaking on the botched kick, in which Bret Hart still takes his shots at Goldberg over.
"For what happened to have happened, I'll be remorseful to the end of my days. For anybody who thinks that was intentional, that is extremely foolish and I'll just leave it that way."
Goldberg kept it short and sweet when talking on the incident with Bret Hart.
