Goldberg On WWE Being Softer: People Are Soft, Get Thicker Skin Boys And Girls

The Undertaker made headlines in a recent interview with Joe Rogan when he commented on the current WWE product.

Undertaker stated that he tries to watch current WWE, but finds it difficult because it's "a little soft." Undertaker would go on to say that there is "too much pretty and not enough edge" in WWE. You can find Undertaker's full comments by clicking here.

Appearing on WWE After The Bell, another old school wrestler Bill Goldberg gave his thoughts on what The Undertaker had to say and detractors who are upset that he can walk in and receive a WWE Title match.

"We hear the comments about me coming back and doing one or two matches a year and how 'he doesn't deserve it, he never paid his dues or was on the road.' People forget very quickly what all of us did back in the day to earn the spot we're in now. I'm one of the luckiest guys in the world. I believe, comparatively, the business is soft. The business is in 2021, so it has to change and be different. Many superstars are bigger than life. It's hard in this generation to build those people. There are the type of people who have forced their way up and earned their spot. Drew McIntyre is one of them. When I was talking to Drew [On Raw], I was speaking to the locker room. I was speaking to everyone. He's the leader. Times are quite different than they were back in the day, but people are soft and take offense to things way too quickly. Get thicker skin boys and girls, that's all I can say. When legends came in and I was in the business, I was greatly appreciative of the eyes they brought to our product. One day, those young kids will be in the position like me and I hope karma comes back to bite them in the ass," said Goldberg. "It's disheartening, it really is. It breaks up the camaraderie between the guys and girls backstage. There's not much trust left, you can't confide in people without them putting it on their social media."

Goldberg continued, noting how he may not have paid his dues in wrestling, but did pay his dues in the NFL.

"Everybody has to pay their dues and they pay them in a different way. I came from the NFL where every 18-seconds I have guys trying to rip my face off. If you think I didn't pay dues, you gotta be crazy. It was different when I came in because I was a professional athlete, yet I stepped back and did whatever I could to make sure that I solidified my place correctly as opposed to stepping in and saying, 'Here I am.' There were a lot of badass dudes in that locker room and when I came in, the heels and babyfaces were never seen in public together. Things have changed exponentially and I can't say it's for the better," he stated.

Goldberg is set to challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship this Sunday at WWE Royal Rumble. The match was setup when Goldberg confronted McIntyre at WWE Raw Legends Night, saying McIntyre had been disrespectful to legends in WWE.
