Kenny Omega had back up at AEW New Year's Smash.
Following a successful AEW World Title defense against Rey Fenix, Kenny Omega was ready to end Fenix's career. Before he got his chance to put his plan in action, Jon Moxley arrived with a barbed wire bat in hand. Moxley knocked down Omega and was ready to inflict more damage, while also turning his attention to Don Callis, when The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) came through the crowd and jumped Moxley.
Omega and The Good Brothers put a beatdown on Moxley, complete with a Magic Killer and Omega taking shots at Moxley with the barbed wire bat. Members of the AEW roster who were sitting ringside tried to save Moxley, but they were laid out by the former Bullet Club trio.
Finally, The Young Bucks arrived to try and reason with Omega...except fans quickly found out whose side they were on as they saved Omega with a superkick.
The Young Bucks, Good Brothers, and Omega hit the Too Sweet pose in the middle of the ring to close the show.
