Gunther is ready to face Cody Rhodes one-on-one whenever it comes to fruition.
Gunther and Cody were the last two men in the 2023 Royal Rumble, and they had an extended singles matches before Cody eventually tossed Gunther over the top rope to win the Royal Rumble and earn his shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.
While making the media rounds after his Royal Rumble victory, Cody said he would like to face Gunther in Europe.
Speaking on WWE After The Bell, Gunther was asked if facing Cody in Europe appealed to him.
"Obviously, it does. When I knew that scenario would go down with me and Cody at the end, I knew he was out for a little bit, and since then I was able to work my way up and I had to introduce him to the new reality. That was my attitude going into it. Obviously, that was just a taste for everybody. Cody is one of those guys where, that's a perfect match for me. Perfect opposites, if that makes sense. The match is right there whenever it needs to happen. If it happens in Europe, that would be fantastic," he said.
Gunther is set to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship aginst Madcap Moss on the February 17 episode of WWE SmackDown.
