Hijo del Vikingo Makes In-Ring Return From Injury At 9/29 AAA Origenes Tapings

El Jinete del Aire is back.

AAA hosted a set of tapings in the Gimnasio Nuevo León Unido in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to be aired at a later date as part of their "Origenes" tour. As part of the tapings, a big return took place for the company.

Hijo del Vikingo made his in-ring return in this event, competing in a trios match alongside Octagon Jr. & Laredo Kid against the team of Belcegor, Emperador Azteca & Taurus. Vikingo's side ended up walking home with the victory in his return. Before the match though, he was attacked by Alberto El Patron backstage.

This was Vikingo's first match for AAA since the 2024 Rey de Reyes Final on 2/9, where he defeated Texano Jr. & Laredo Kid, and his first match in general since a 2/17 AULL event, where he teamed alongside Wotan & Psycho Clown against El Negocio Traumado (Demonio Infernal, Fresero Jr. & Trauma I).

Vikingo was sidelined after undergoing surgery for a ruptured ligament & damaged meniscus, causing him to relinquish the AAA Mega Title ahead of AAA's TripleMania 32 Monterrey, which is currently held by Alberto El Patron. Vikingo held that championship for 833 days, serving as the longest-reigning champion in the belt's history.

Fightful will have more updates as more details are unveiled regarding Hijo del Vikingo's return to the ring. You can check out the results of the show in Fightful's results section.
