The Ace of New Japan has shot back at Kenny Omega.
After defeating Kazuchika Okada at Dominion to win the IWGP Heavyweight Title, Omega took aim at the homegrown roster by stating, “But I’m serving this as warning to all the domestic talent in New Japan. You guys have to step up your game. Because right now, you are not at our level."
Omega's track record in the ring since then speaks for itself as he continues to churn out excellent matches that end with his hand getting raised. However, Hiroshi Tanahashi offered his own criticism of Omega's in-ring work on a local radio show.
Tanahashi's complaint about how Kenny views himself in regards to the Bullet Club echos the sentiments of Bullet Club OGs Tama Tonga and Bad Luck Fale. Recently, Fale discussed the leadership differences between Omega and Styles, while Tonga noted that the Bullet Club began to drift apart when Omega took over.
As it stands, Tanahashi and Omega are set to clash at Wrestle Kingdom 13. But first, Tanahashi must defend his G1 Climax briefcase against Kazuchika Okada at Destruction in Kobe.
