Independent Wrestler Liger Rivera Passes Away At Age 37

Liger Rivera has sadly passed away at the age of 37.

The tragic news was announced by the Empire Wrestling Federation on Tuesday, October 22. Rivera is known by the world of independent wrestling for being a standout performer in California's independent wrestling scene. Trained by Jesse Hernandez, Rivera primarily competed in the EWF in San Bernardino, California throughout his career. From 2006 to 2012, Rivera also had a lengthy stint with the National Wrestling Alliance.

In the Empire Wrestling Federation, Rivera held both the America Championship and the Cruiserweight Championship on two seperate occasions. Rivera also notched a reign as the EWF Tag Team Champion with TJ Perkins in 2008.

Rivera's last match came in 2018, as he wrestled Fidel Bravo at a Hoodslam event in Oakland, California.
