Templario Wins Tournament, Will Face MJF For AEW International Title At 8/2 CMLL Viernes Espectacular

A new contender for the AEW International Title is set.

On the 7/23 edition of CMLL Martes de Arena Mexico, CMLL hosted a special one-night tournament to determine the #1 Contender for MJF's AEW International Title, which is set to be defended on the 8/2 edition of CMLL's Friday Show "Viernes Espectacular".

At the end of the tourney, it was none other than Templario who walked out victorious from the tourney, outlasting Averno in the finals by catching him with an Avalanche Powerbomb off the middle rope before locking in a bridge for the win. With this victory, he will face MJF in Arena Mexico in his first AEW-Adjacent match.

This is set to be MJF's first-ever appearance for the promotion and his first appearance in Mexico on October 5, 2019, where he defended the MLW Tag Titles alongside Richard Holliday as "The Dynasty" against La Real Familia (Hijo de LA Park & LA Park Jr) in the Tijuana Auditorium in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.

Fightful will have the results of that match and more details on the show card as details are unveiled. For more results from CMLL, AEW & across the wrestling world, check out Fightful's results section.
