WWE Intercontinental Championship Number One Contender's Tournament Finals Set For 9/9 WWE Raw

The finals are set for the Intercontinental Championship Number One Contender Tournament.

On the September 2 edition of WWE Raw, the final two tournament bouts took place. In the first bout, Ilja Dragunov, Dominik Mysterio, and Dragon Lee battled it out in a high octane match. During the closing stretch of the contest, Carlito got involved and shoved Dragon Lee off of the turnbuckle. Damian Priest made the save and chased both Carlito and Mysterio out of the arena.

After a intense exchange of strikes, Dragunov was able to score the victory via pinfall after nailing Lee with a Torpedo Moskau.

Later in the show, Braun Strowman faced Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser in the final match in the first round. Strowman replaced Bronson Reed in the match after WWE announced that Reed was not cleared to compete. Early on, Strowman went crashing through a barricade. Sheamus and Kaiser battled back and forth before Strowman threw a chair at Kaiser. Strowman rallied and chokeslammed Sheamus. Sheamus responded with a flurry of offense. Pete Dunne attacked Sheamus and hit him with a shillelagh. Strowman then pinned Kaiser with a powerslam to clinch the win.

Strowman and Dragunov have advanced to the finals. They will face Jey Uso and Pete Dunne on the September 9th episode of WWE Raw. The winner of that match will challenge Bron Breakker for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
