James Ellsworth Enjoys A Moment With Vince McMahon

James Ellsworth says he was overwhelmed when he met Vince McMahon.

Ellsworth was interviewed by Eric Bischoff on Bischoff on Wrestling. He was asked about his dream opportunity of wrestling the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

"It really truly hasn't hit me yet, I am glad it's happening now and not like five or ten years ago because I don't think I would as prepared as well as I am now. Now when I go up there, I am very focused on doing a good job," said Ellsworth.

Ellworth's opponent for the last two weeks has been AJ Styles in Smackdown main event matches. Bischoff asked him about his impression of the champion.

“He’s, in my humble opinion, he’s the best in the world. It was an honor and a pleasure and all the nice things you can say about a guy. He was amazing,” said Ellsworth.

Ellsworth has been victorious two weeks in a row against styles, including in a title match, even though he didn't capture the championship. Ellsworth won the championship match by disqualification so he did not earn the title. He spoke about what happened when he went backstage and ended up face-to-face with Vince McMahon.

“Yesterday after the match I got to walk up and shake his hand and he told me, “Good job.” From him it means the world. I have so much respect for him. He’s the number one guy in the business and has been for a long time. I never expected to even have a conversation with him, ever. For him to just look me in the eye and tell me, “Good job,” that’s the most overwhelming thing to me. For sure,” said Ellsworth.

Ellsworth is a independent wrestler from Baltimore, Maryland. WWE is holding a poll to see what the fans want for Ellsworth next.

Smackdown officials have not spoken on whether Ellsworth will get another title shot.
