James Ellsworth reflects on his time in the sports-entertainment company.
At the 2018 'Money In The Bank' PPV, "The Big Hog" James Ellsworth made his return to WWE programming to assist his running-mate Carmella in retaining the SmackDown Live Women's Championship. Ellsworth was released from WWE in November of 2017 and after nearly a year away from WWE and making the rounds on the independent scene, he was brought back to WWE and worked on a night-to-night basis type of contract until he was written off of television a few weeks prior to the 2018 SummerSlam PPV.
James Ellsworth has been lobbying on social media to get fans to grab WWE's attention to get him back in the company and Ellsworth has also stated that the door is open for him to return to WWE and he shared those sentiments when he guest appeared on the podcast of ECW Triple Crown Champion Taz.
“Yeah I have a good relationship with them as of now - no I’m not contacted but it's definitely… I feel like the relationship is there and the door is definitely open to come back and do some more stuff.” Ellsworth stated.
As Taz and Ellsworth continued to converse, the conversation about Ellsworth wanting to do more in-ring work during his time in WWE came up. Ellsworth shared that whenever the opportunity came to step in the ring he always embraced it but in terms of becoming a full-time in-ring performer, he sees himself as a part of the 205 Live roster.
"Well yeah you always wanna do more and I felt like if I ever got a chance to do that it would be with the Cruiserweights on 205 Live because obviously my character didn’t really call for it on SmackDown. I was mainly just a gimmick and a character but I felt like if I ever got a chance to do that it would be on 205 Live where all the guys are my size and I could show more of the wrestling ability but awe well I didn’t get a chance to do it but yeah man I’m always willing to do more and want to do more and up for anything.” He explained.
On a related note Ellsworth's former running-mate Carmella has found a new partner to team with in the form of R-Truth. Check out one of Fightful's recent SmackDown Live results articles from the past few weeks to read up on what Carmella has been up to on WWE TV.
