Jamie Hayter: CM Punk Was Very Helpful With Me, You'd Be A Fool To Not Want To Work With Him

Jamie Hayter is a fan of CM Punk.

CM Punk will make his official return to AEW on June 17 for the premiere episode of AEW Collision. Punk will compete in the main event, teaming with FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) against Samoa Joe and Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & Juice Robinson). He will also speak during the episode.

Punk hasn't been live on AEW television since AEW All Out 2022 when he won the AEW World Title. He was subsequently stripped of the title and suspended by the company for his post-show comments and role in an altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson).

Ahead of the premiere of AEW Collision, Jamie Hayter was asked by Alistair McGeorge of Metro for her thoughts on Punk's return.

"From my experience with him, he was always very, very pleasant. Very helpful, and I always had really great conversations with him about wrestling. He’s a wealth of knowledge because he’s been in the business for so long, and he’s got extensive experience. You’d kind of be a fool not to want to pick his brain and not want to work with the guy. He knows what he’s doing!" she exclaimed.

Hayter continued, "He was one of the most gripping performers in professional wrestling. The Summer of Punk, all of that, everyone was so into it and there was a reason why he was the most popular wrestler. To be honest, I would say he’s still incredibly popular now, regardless of the All Out stuff and the drama. He’s still a big name and he’s still wanted in the business. You know what? It’s not my company. I can’t speak for everybody, but I wouldn’t have an issue with it. If it’s gonna be good for the company, then I’m all for it. If it’s gonna put butts in seats, if it’s gonna get people to watch, then absolutely!"

Hayter lost the AEW Women's Title to Toni Storm at AEW Double or Nothing 2023.

She is currently sidelined with an injury.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Collision beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 17.
