John Bradshaw Layfield reflects on reenacting one of his more famous WrestleMania moments at a recent ACW event in Wisconsin with Hornswoggle.
At WWE WrestleMania 24 in 2008, JBL defeated Finlay in a Belfast Brawl that opened the show. Yes, it was Bradshaw's final win at WrestleMania and he would even parlay it into a WWE Championship match the following month. However, when people think about that match today they think about Bradshaw chucking a garbage can at Hornswoggle, Finlay's storyline son, occasional tag team partner, and regular second at ringside.
Bradshaw recently reenacted that moment, throwing another garbage can at Swoggle at a recent independent event in Wisconsin. Commenting on the reenactment during the most recent episode of the Something to Wrestle podcast, the former WWE Champion joked that the trash can was so heavy, that he took Hornswoggle "straight to CTE."
"I just love hitting Hornswoggle with trash cans. The trash can was actually really heavy. People are wondering why I didn't sling it, it's because it weighed like forty pounds. So, it was like the ultimate potato! I took him straight to CTE."
Of course, the WWE Hall of Famer actually has a fondness for the man behind the character and praised Dylan Postl for the work that he does in wrestling to this day.
"Hornswoggle looks really good. He's got himself in good shape. He's got a wonderful young son who's playing sports in great shape, training to be a wrestler. Dylan is doing great stuff up there. He's got a great show that he runs, got a lot of people in his academy that he runs, Dylan is doing absolutely wonderful. I love Dylan."
Bradshaw has been appearing at a wide variety of independent events and some TNA, AAA, and MLW shows as well. Learn more about that here.
Hornswoggle recently announced that he signed a WWE Legends deal. Learn more about that here.
